Aloha, I have turned Hawaiian after a weekend full of Hawaii themed activities. My church again had it's Sunday School camp. It is hard to believe that at last year's Sunday School camp I began this blog, now a full year later I am still keeping it going and actually have readers!!! This year's theme at camp was getting wisdom from the Bible, focusing on different "Jewels" from the book of proverbs for our treasure chest. With the idea of treasure, we had all our activites relating to treasure, island, and Hawaii. Even though I was a staff, I enjoyed the camp just as much as the children did.
My favorite part of the entire weekend was Saturday evening, our Luau (Luau, as I was told, is a Hawaiian Party).
Everyone made grass skirts and were adorned with flowers necklaces. We enjoyed the evening of food and games.
I mentioned that we had games at the Luau, this is not a game of wresting. It was previously a parrot piƱata that was demolished then attacked by the children for the many treasures contained within. Amazing how something that takes a process of several days to make can be destroyed in a matter of minutes!
Me, yet again, with Karina.
I was able to share a room with Karina and Heather. Two of the campers joined us afterwards for one night of staying up late so that we would be able to wish Karina a happy 19th birthday at midnight.
I have just told about my favorite parts of camp, there are many more activities we did. I would like to hear from all of you who were at camp. Tell, in the comments, about your favorite part of camp, even if you just came on Sunday for the grill, you can still give your opinion.
